I woke up in prayer this morning as I was praying for my Korea trip, and I felt the Lord tell me to look at past thoughts He had given to me Dec. 6, 2013:

“Offense in the church is a spirit of division…if offense is in the church, it is an ‘anti-Christ’ spirit.”

It amazes me how many Christians can get offended when someone hears the voice of the Lord, takes it to scripture, finds it as a core principle of Christianity, their Apostolic covering agrees, then forgive and help restore someone…and people get offended!

It’s almost like some people use the Bible to convince people of their personal convictions, instead of having your convictions changed by the truth of the Bible.

Or maybe some people have been so hurt by someone’s sin that they find their identity in the pain, and they want to hurt them back…we must find our identity in Christ. And if we truly find our identity in Christ, we would forgive them all!

Also Dec 6, 2013: “The Kingdom of God will offend our human minds…so religious people will probably be offended by the Kingdom of God.”

If people are offended at forgiveness and restoration, then they will be offended at Jesus Christ…since that is what He died for!

Matthew 6:14-15
“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”

Trespasses in this scripture means: g3900. παράπτωμα paraptōma; from 3895; a side-slip (lapse or deviation), i.e. (unintentional) error or (wilful) transgression: — fall, fault, offence, sin, trespass.

(Notice that “trespass” is not a particular sin…but all sin both unintentional and willful.)

This is a year of open doors…let’s forgive one another as Jesus has forgiven us, so we can love one another as Christ loves us:)

I forgive you!
And through that forgiveness, I can also love you:)

Much Love, Brent
